If for some reason this online identity verification is not successful, you will be directed to your local post office. The billing address for your card must match either your old or new address to verify your identity. This involves a one-time passcode or verification link sent to your cell phone and a $1.10 fee, payable via credit or debit card. The USPS uses a multifactor identity verification process for online submissions. To file online, you will need to provide a valid email address. You will also need to provide your name, contact information, and the start date for your mail forwarding. You will be asked whether the change of address is for an individual, family, or business and whether the relocation is temporary or permanent. Step 2: Complete a Change-of-Address Formįill out the USPS change-of-address form. Note that online submission is not available for international addresses. If you have already submitted a Change of Address request and want to cancel forwarding or make changes to your request, please visit the Change of Address Correction site at or go to your post office.Mail forwarding is a service provided by both the United States Postal Service and third-party companies that allows individuals to redirect mail from their old address to a new one. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Internet Change of Address process for addresses with these Unique ZIP Codes at this time. Unique ZIP Codes are sometimes assigned to large businesses or organizations. However, an Internet Change of address can be filed TO a military address. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Internet Change of Address process for international addresses or FROM Military APO/FPO type addresses at this time. (Please note that Address Change requests from non-USPS PO Boxes cannot be processed.) If your address is a PO Box, enter it in the Street field. If your apartment/suite number needs further clarification, consider adding or removing a dash. Remember to include apartment/suite number in the Street field, if applicable.
